Too lazy to write
I’m a bit busy at the moment, don’t really have time to write much. It’s my own fault though, I’m deliberately making myself busy. If I’m not busy I have a nasty tendency to sleep all day. Life is short. Exams are coming up soon so I’m doing a bit of study and also working on a couple of projects on the side. I went to the Banff Mountain Film Festival last...
I feel vindicated (and rich)
If you haven’t already heard I was one of 10 winners in the NBR Audacious Business Idea Competition. This blog is turning into a delayed slow motion replay of my life. I know. The prize was $1000 cash and hopefully your respect. I now call myself an entrepreneur. Apart from that nothing has changed. I don’t really feel like writing now, the Hurricanes are getting wasted by the Crusaders,...

Straylight Studios etc
Tonight I went to a presentation by Straylight Studios on Web Design and Branding. The presentation was part of a series hosted by the School of Business to complement the NBR Audacious Business Competitions. It was held in the Centre for Innovation which probably sounds more exciting than it actually is. Initially we were denied entry, apparently our swipe cards don’t have the security...
Some advice on light bulbs
A quick helpful tip to brighten you day, and your room. Is your room too dim? Do you find yourself using a desk lamp? That’s ridiculous. Follow my instructions carefully. Check the wattage of your light bulb. It’s probably 60W or thereabouts. Way too low I think. Pop down to the store and get yourself a real mans light bulb. 150W should do it. Whack that in your light fitting. On...

It's not cool to be Loaded
This morning I stopped by my beloved Kiwibank (It’s Ours!) to pick up an application form for their new Loaded card. It promises the freedom of prepaid with the power of Visa. Wow. I’ve been waiting for a debit card like Westpac offers which is basically an Eftpos card with a credit card number so it can be used for online shopping, a vice of mine. So I was happy, momentarily. Then...
Vantage Point and Lost (they can't be separated)
On the weekend I watched Vantage Point starring Mathew Fox (and others). Reminiscent of Oceans Eleven and Inside Man, but with a lot more action, Vantage point was a refreshing new take on the blockbuster formula. The basic premise is pretty standard. The US President is making a speech in Spain to open a crucial summit on terrorism. Terrorists attack, chaos ensues. The key is the way...

Fire Alarms are best late at night
So the fire alarm in my building went off half an hour ago at about 11pm. The alarm is very loud. The siren is located right outside my bedroom door, good times. I was just setting the alarm on my cellphone at the time. After grabbing my cellphone and keys I dashed outside only to realise I wasn’t wearing shoes. It’s currently very cold down here in Dunedin, I think my feet were...
