2009
I feel obligated to write something about 2009.
I used to be really involved in Scouting. Queen Scout award, Duke of Edinburgh award, I’ve got it all. Two years ago I pretty much cut all ties when I moved to Dunedin. Today I met a bunch of people I know from Scouting, it was weird. I sort of miss that (it’s 100 times cooler than you’re thinking right now), but at the same time I’ve achieved a ton of stuff in the past two years that I couldn’t have while spending so much time on Scouting stuff. No regrets.
Anyway, that was a sidenote, milestones in 2009:
- Went flatting in Dunedin which worked out really well
- Switched from studying Law/Commerce to Computer Science
- Learned Ruby on Rails
- Did Summer School
- Met the guys at The Distiller
- Worked for PocketSmith
- Finished another year of my University
- Started working on Heaps for Social Capital
That’s quite a serious list. I didn’t go snowboarding/skiing for the first time in 10 years, and I’m not sure if I will this year. I’m working harder that ever and loving it. I can see myself changing, so, so fast. And I like it.
So yeah, 2009 was awesome but 2010 will be better. I have a bunch of awesome new friends, mad skills and I’m going to graduate in 6 months.
