My picks from 101 must-do weekends
The AA recently (or not so recently) published a list of 101 must-do weekend activities from around New Zealand. You probably found it tucked away inside your newspaper. Predictably a lot of the activities suggested are lame, some only taking an hour or two, how is that a weekend?!), but there are some great activities mentioned that I have done or would love to do. Here’s a couple of the activities that would make me turn tourist for a weekend. For the purposes of this list I have rejected stuff I’ve already done.
White Island: I remember considering it last time I was in Auckland but now I’m really keen to do it. This is the only one that really caught my eye.
Rainbow Warrior Diving: Perhaps visiting the site will be enough. I don’t really do diving.
Stewart Island: I guess it’s just something you have to do. I’ll get there one day, it’s not so far from Dunedin.
Manawatu Windmills: Windmills are awesome.
Have you done any of these? I know a few people who have been to Stewart Island.
